Our aim is to provide a secure and encouraging atmosphere where your child will feel safe, happy, and motivated, and select only the people who will help to create the most positive environment for your child.

At Nursery Moksliukas we believe that looking after young children requires dedicated, knowledgeable and committed staff and therefore majority of our staff have or finishing to gain a NVQ Level 2 and level 3 childcare qualifications. Legislation requires that at least 50% of a childcare staff team must have a relevant childcare qualification. We realise that a staff team with high level qualifications have a positive impact on the quality of care and education offered to children attending our nursery.

Nursery practitioners follow the nurseries policies and procedures to ensure the nursery remains a safe environment for children that promote their health and wellbeing. Nursery practitioners attended safeguarding course annually and the following courses every 3 years to ensure their knowledge is kept up to date with current practice and to enable them to work and care for children safely:

• Paediatric first aid
• Basic food hygiene
• Manual handling

The Nursery Manager holds a First Aid at Work qualification that enables her to administer first aid to adults.

We are committed to developing our staff team and ensure all staff can access regular training’s to update their skills and knowledge. This includes in-house training as well as training by external agencies.

All staff are cleared by the Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) to work with children.

We are a friendly and experienced team of 28 members, some of us with more than 20 years experience in childcare and teaching.

Our staff is formed of:

• 14 qualified nursery room practitioners (minimum NVQ Level 2);
• 3 spec. teachers: music, ESOL and Lithuanian language professionals;
• 7 nursery assistants (1 of them finished or attending NVQ Level 3 course);
• 2 cooks;
• 1 cleaner;
• a part-time secretary.
